Start by stopping at the Ch\u00e2teau de Talmont<\/strong>, the city’s landmark. More than 1,000 years of history are recounted. Initially a church, this castle was extended over time by William the Bald and his successors. It was by the sea when it was built, which explains the presence of pebbles in the walls. Then continue your walk towards the Guitti\u00e8re<\/strong>, a district known in Talmont Saint Hilaire for its salt marshes and its oysters<\/strong>. Walk through these salt-scented marshes, built in the shape of combs to exploit the salt from the sea in the best way, in an ancestral way. And taste the best oysters, labeled ” Vend\u00e9e atlantique “<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the Guitti\u00e8re<\/strong>, towards the sea, you will find the Veillon<\/strong> and its magnificent beach of fine sand. Located in the Payr\u00e9 estuary <\/strong>, classified as a Great Natural Complex, this place is natural and exceptional. It is time to stop and rest. Contemplate this splendid landscape with harmonious colors : white sand, turquoise water, sun on the horizon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2014, the water of this beach has been categorized as Blue Flag Label, which rewards the quality of the bathing water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Port Bourgenay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To finish, go to the Bourgenay port. This harbour has been welcoming boaters since 1985. It can now accommodate up to 650 boats, both pleasure and professional.
