On this first day of vacations in Vendée, the weather is nice, the sun is present, a light breeze caresses our skin, the ideal time for a walk. Put on your most comfortable sneakers, and let’s go !
By bike or on foot, many opportunities are waiting for you to be amazed all day long. And if you prefer the calm of a hike, here is a route that will please you !

The Castle of Talmont
First, from the campsite, go to the Château de Talmont, an ancient fortress retracing 1000 years of history in the Vendée. You will be able to lose yourself in the stone ramparts of the castle and climb to the top to enjoy the view of the coastal landscape.
It is open from 10.30 am to 6.00 pm between April and July, from 10.30 am to 7.00 pm from July to the end of August, and from 10.30 am to 6.00 pm from the end of August to the beginning of October. Allow 1 hour and 15 minutes to make the most of your visit and explore every corner of the castle.
For a day pass (excluding the evening show), prices range from €5 to €16 for adults, €2.50 to €13 for children (aged 4–17), and free for children under 4. Family packs are available.
The must-sees: the Veillon & the Guittière
Then visit the salt marshes via the Cul d’âne footbridge which allows you to cross the salt baths. At the edge of this footbridge, observe well, you will find the castle of Veillon. As in the past, the salt marshes allow the recovery and collection of salt in a natural and sustainable way.
Don’t hesitate to make a detour to the oyster port at La Guittière, a total of 500 tons of oysters are produced there each year, don’t be tempted ? So stop by Le Park to taste it. Open all summer, this seafood restaurant also offers local beers and drinks to go with it. This is the winning combo for a successful tasting !
